　欧米では企業による教育・研修目的での仮想社会サービス活用が盛んです。昔のテレビドラマにムーンベースアルファーと言うのがありました。それにちなんでNASAの月探査プログラムは２０１０年１月前後にMMOによるシミュレーションゲームを立ち上げます。これらはNASAが一般科学系学生の教育目的で公開するいるものです。

既にNASAの火星探検と火星を越えての教育・研修プログラムは出来上がっています。

NASA's MMOG Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond is currently being developed, but a demo called Moonbase Alpha will be available on Steam sometime before or after January 2010. Moonbase Alpha explores the NASA Constellation program for the year 2020, while the full MMOG, Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond is set further in the future around the year 2035.
